History

Our History

Basic Beginnings was established in 1983 in response to the increasing number of families with two working parents. Kerry Greaser, a local businessman, had high expectations of an appropriate environment for his own children and he created Basic Beginnings to meet those expectations.

Basic Beginnings added the Infant Care Program to their facility in 2001.  This program was made possible through grant funding from the Wyoming Department of Family Services and the Wyoming Department of Corrections.  This addition allowed us to care for children beginning at 6 weeks of age and older.

In 2011, along with partners including the Wyoming Business Council, the City of Laramie, Albany County Campus of Laramie County Community College, and the Developmental Preschool and Daycare, Basic Beginnings South was built to help alleviate the need for quality childcare in Laramie.

Today, 39 years later, we still have the same goal – providing the very highest quality care and education for young children.
